Using slow loading graphics, java, and music should be avoided at all costs. Your Web site's most important function is to promote and ultimately sell your products and services.

"Bells and whistles" are not going to sell anything. Unless you are selling CDs, sound should not be part of your Web site. If your not convinced, just pay a visit to the more popular sites on the Internet and see what they are doing. As technology progresses, it may eventually become acceptable, but at the present time we're not quite there. If it causes the page to load slowly, get rid of it!
